Since Dijon is the Capitol of Burgundy, we wanted to try a restaurant that was representative of the region’s cuisine. Our first choice was closed, so we ended up at Restaurant de la Porte Guillaume. To start my wife ordered the Jambon Persille (ham terrine) with sauce Ravigote and I got the ouefs meurette (poached eggs in red wine sauce). For mains my wife ordered the beef Bourguignon (served tableside) and I ordered the veal scallops with tarragon jus. For dessert my wife ordered the white wine poached pear with chocolate caramel, while I opted for the cheese selection. To drink my wife had a glass of Chablis and a red burgundy, while I had red burgundies for for all my courses.
