Au Canon des Invalides 7th

Dinner tonight was at Au Canon des Invalides, a small brasserie located in the 7th.  To start my wife got the Soupe a l’onion gratinee and I ordered the escargot a la bourguignonne.  As you can see below the escargot are a little tricky to get out of the shells.  For mains my wife ordered the poulet roti and I got the tartare de boeuf. Instead of the usual egg yolk, the tartare was topped with shards of parmesan. Both mains came with fries and a side salad.  The salad was dressed with a sesame and ginger vinaigrette, the same kind that comes drizzled on side salads in Japanese restaurants.  An odd choice of dressing for a French brasserie, but good nontheless.  To drink I got a pint of Carlsberg beer.
